The Academic Symposium, spearheaded by the WorldCC Foundation, aims to foster a collaborative environment where academics and contracting practitioners can converge to explore and identify new research opportunities within the broader context of supply chain networks and ecosystems. This symposium will delve into the evolving role of contracts in supply chains, emphasizing the need for adaptive and proactive approaches to contract management.

There is a groundswell of opinion that we must do things differently - and a fresh approach to contracts is an essential element in achieving change. The 2024 Symposium seeks to bring academics and practitioners together in a forum where they will turn theories into practice and identify a forward-looking research agenda.

Call for papers

We invite PhD students, academics and practitioners to present on this year's theme, "Reimagining Contracts for Evolving Supply Chains."

Accepted abstracts will be made available online to conference delegates. Authors will be invited to provide a high-level summary of their paper or thoughts on Day One (3rd December) of our Academic Symposium, where presentations will receive feedback.  

Please submit a 250-word abstract describing your proposed presentation no later 
than October 15, 2024, to Ananya Prem Nath at anath@worldcc.com.

Selected papers will be considered for inclusion in a special edition published in our 
prestigious international journal "International Journal of Commerce & Contracting."

Incorporating Real-Life Case Studies: The symposium will highlight real-world case studies to provide practical insights into effective contract management and supply chain strategies. These case studies will illustrate successful implementations of incentive structures, risk management techniques, and adaptive contract strategies.

By bringing together a diverse group of experts, the symposium aims to catalyze new research avenues and practical solutions that enhance the resilience and efficiency of supply chains through innovative contract management. This collaborative effort seeks to bridge the gap between academic research and practical application, driving forward the future of supply chain contracts.
